As Lazy As NowMok

NowMok is a lazy cat

I am as lazy as NowMok. Zaharah wisely told me that laziness is our nature. I am ok with that until I cannot stand the dust that gathered in my house, the work that started to pile, the discolouration of NowMok furs and the fats that stick to my body. That is when I started to do the unnatural things - clean up the house, work, wash NowMok and exercise.

There are many things I can do and achieved in my live, but all was hampered by my laziness. How to overcome my laziness? Fortunately there are a lot experts wrote about this and steps on how to overcome the laziness. Problem is I am too lazy to follow it. Hmmmmm

The Voting Experience

I woke up last Saturday, March 8, 2008, the same as any other Saturday. I drove to Zaharah's house to pick her up for our weekly walking and bitching in Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) in Kepong. On the way I was entertained by all the election's flags and posters on both sides of the roads.

When we reached FRIM, we found out that the school in FRIM was used as a voting centre. Zaharah was really pissed because we paid entry fees without knowing that it should be free as the place was used as voting centre.

We proceeded with our walking and bitching. After that we went to our usual brunch place, Anuja Restaurant in Aman Puri. Tosai masala is my favourite brunch food with glasses of orange juice. On the way back to Zaharah's place we decided to drive around Sungai Buloh to check out the voting festivities. When we went back to Zaharah's place, I quickly fell asleep on the floor of her living room. So tired.

When I woke up it was 3pm and it was time for me to vote before the voting close at 5pm. I showered, said my goodbye to Zaharah and drove to my voting centre in a Polytechnic in Shah Alam.

The road leading to the centre was lined with flags.

Obviously, in this area, the fight was between Barisan National and Keadilan.

The political parties set up their tents in front gate of the centre. This is where all the voting beggars assembled. No beggars or political posters were allowed inside the voting centre.
I drove into the centre and park near the voting building.

Then I went to check my registration and was given a voting room number. Mine was number 3.

I went to room 3 which was guarded by 2 policemen. Inside the room there were 5 persons responsible for the voting processes. I passed my identity card to a lady and she checked my name on a list. Then she announced my voting number and name to the other 4 people. The 4 people were also checking their list and cross my name on the list. Then I was given 2 piece of voting papers. One for parliment and one for DUN (Dewan Undangan Negeri).

I then went to one of the boxed table and drawn my crosses for my favourite candidates over the voting papers. I then dropped the papers into the transparent voting box. That was it. I have done my responsibility as the citizen of Malaysia for the second time in my life.

I passed by a couple of over excited voting beggars on my way back. They must be having a party later that night when they find out that their political party won the election in that area.

Hot Hot Hot - Customised Political Rally

I stumbled upon an opposition party political rally today - my 1st time ever in my life - , and I stayed and I stood and I listened and I watched for 2 hours. The news paper called it a customised political rally by the Opposition Parties a.k.a. Alternative Front (Barisan Alternatif). I called it an interesting night with a bunch of neighbours listening to a bunch of political people that end well. Unfortunately I did not have my phone camera with me because of that stupid idiot (check previous blog) stole my phone.

It happens like this: My yoga class finished at 9.20pm and I went to a neighbourhood restaurant for a piece of tosai and a glass of tea. Nice tosai. While having the nice tosai, a 'legal' DVD seller came in with his 'legal' DVDs. Somehow 6 of his 'legal' DVDs became mine :)

After that two guys came in and passed a few pages of write up on PAS (Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party) and how the government been lying to us. I read it while having my tosai. After that I walked to the 99 grocery shop at the corner of the shop houses for a loaf of bread. I noticed a group of people standing on the side of the shop listening to a guy talking on a microphone. This was the customised political rally.

I stood there with 6 'legal' dvds and a loaf of bread in hands having 2 hours quality times with my neighbours listening to 3 political candidates of this area (Dr Mariah Mahmud, Dr A. Xavier Jayakumar and Shuhaimi Shafiei), and some others not so important political people, promoting their party manifests. First time for me to see political candidates close up and they waved at me and I waved back at them :). The selling point basically fairness to all races, low petrol price, free education, free medical benefit, less crime and a lot more. I was expecting more bitching of the current government and National Front's (Barisan National) candidates. I got less bitching, more promises. I also found out that the indelible ink that I planned to mark on my middle finger will not be used in this election. What a waste of RM2.4 millions and a disappointment to me and my middle finger.
While we were there a bunch of National Front's Gerak Gempur squad a.k.a. Mat Rempit passed by loudly on motorcycles a.k.a. Kapcai, waving their flags.

After that we were given a free short movies of the destruction of Kg Rimba Jaya, Shah Alam by the Selangor government and confessions from the ex prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir how he lied and cheated while he was in power. Correct correct correct clip also part of the show.

48 hours to go before the election this Saturday and I was thinking - Will I stumble upon National Front's political rally? Wait and see.
