Robbed

I was robbed at machete point yesterday. This was what happens.

Yesterday, same as all my Saturday recently, was my walking and hiking day with my friend Zaharah. Usually we went to FRIM (Forest Research Institute Malaysia), which is located in Kepong. We have decided for a change and went to Taman Pertanian Bukit Cahaya Sri Alam (a.k.a. Bukit Cherakah) in Shah Alam instead.

At 9.30am we started our walk from the front entry of the park. We walked through the paddy field, went up to the cocoa park, through the fishing pond and the mushroom centre. Around 11 am, we were talking about our week as we passed the herbs park and down the hill to the Orchid Park. The place was deserted except for a few maintenance workers. As we walked down the hill, I noticed at the corner of my eye and felt someone pulling my backpack. As I turn around, I was so surprised to see a guy holding a long machete pointed at me. He was about 5 feet tall, dark skin with short afro curly hair and was wearing black long sleeve shirt and black long pants with no shoes. Automatically I screamed my heart out. The guy asked us to shut up and pushed us both to the side of the hill while pointing the machete to us. My friend said later that he sound Indonesian. I somehow cannot control myself and kept on screaming. At this moment the robber saw my handphone that I hold in my palm and asked me to hand it over. I handed over the handphone and he ran away.

As he ran away, I screamed for help and both my friend and I ran toward his direction. He turned his head toward us and sticks his tongue to us. Such an arse. He then ran into the forest. My friend and I walked back to the front gate to report the event to the park official which was later took us to the police stations. Yes police stations, as 2 different police stations (Section 6 and IPD Stations in Shah Alam) as the first police station in Section 6 did not have investigation officer.

That was what happens. Moral of the story - be careful and always alert with everything around you. We are now living in an unsafe world and I have to buy a new handphone.

The Naming of the Dead

I am reading a book call The Naming of the Dead by Ian Rankin. In one part of the book mentioned a group of demonstrator standing around at night with lighted candles, reciting the name of people that already die to remember them. This made me thinking about the people that I know, families or friends, that passed on. I was surprised that I cannot remember some of their names now. That is when I decided to follow the same. Naming the people that I know here in this blog to remember them, to keep their memories alive and to remind us that we are not immortal.

Malaysia War 2008

Malaysia parliament was dissolved yesterday - Wednesday Feb 13, 2008. This is also meant that the war has started. The general election war. I found out that the election will cost MYR 200 million to conduct with MYR 1 million for indelible ink and MYR 16 million for the ballot boxes. I am IN SHOCK. Shock not because I did not know there is indelible ink. Shock that it took MYR 200 million to select some politicians to become our leaders to piss us off in the future.... with their sex scandal... hehehee ... sorry Chua, just an example. I hope they will allow me to mark my middle finger with that indelible ink.

Don't know what will happen to the balance MYR 183 million. I am pretty sure they will be put it 'for a good use'. If only the money can be used for truthfully good uses. Hmmm.... the world is not and never will be perfect or fair.

This also meant that the flags and posters war is officially open.

Not yet in full bloom, but the bud has shown.
